We had an early spring this year (end of March), so we headed to Shenandoah hoping to find spring had sprung there. It was still pretty wintery, but that didn't dissuade some of the more intrepid of the Gathrights (meaning everyone except me) from doing some old-fashioned (read: freezing) swimming along the trail.
