The True Meaning of Easter?

I wanted to make Easter more Christ-centered this year, so instead of Easter baskets and candy, I bought "Who's your Hero?" and "Scripture Scouts" for the girls. I also bought them a Cadbury egg each, since they are my favorite all-time Easter candy.

While the girls were eating their Cadbury eggs, I asked, "Why do we use eggs to celebrate Easter?"

Audrey said, "Because eggs represent new life. Birds, ducks, frogs, lots of animals come from eggs."

Meanwhile, Lizzy is raising her hand, yelling, "I know, I know!"

"Just a minute, Lizzy" I said, and asked, "And what does new life have to do with Easter?"

Audrey responded, "It's because of the ressurection."

Lizzy was still raising her hand frantically, so I said, "Yes, Lizzy?"

"It's because eggs can hold LOTS of candy!" was her reply.
