Graton related this conversation he had with Audrey to me this morning:
Audrey: (retelling the plot of "The Lady and the Panda," a very G-rated library movie that she had just watched)
...after that she met this guy and they mated.
Graton: They mated?
Audrey: You know, they went on dates and hung out.
Graton: Ah. That is called courting. It means they become friends
and get to know each other better. Mating is when they have a baby
together.
Audrey: I don't really understand the difference.
Graton: Don't worry, you will.
