Longer School days= Better Test Scores?

This sounds good in theory, but I think it misses several key points:

A) Other cultures and countries value, and put a greater priority on education then we do in the US. This likely has more bearing on their improved scores than the number of hours they spend in school.

B)There is only so much educators can do when faced with apathetic students and families,

C) Longer school days mean less time for family life, and that's important in creating a functional and positive society as well.

D) As opposed to increased spending (and likely taxes) on adding hours to traditional schools, perhaps other solutions such as school vouchers or more charter/magnet schools would help students to learn in ways that are individually motivating, and will better prepare them in their future careers.
