I wasn't too impressed with the DC Zoo the first time we went a couple years ago. After having annual passes to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park it didn't seem so great. This spring I decided to give it another shot. After all it's free! I ended up exploring more of it than I had before and we really enjoyed it. Here's some highlights:
