Coming to the Census

We've been dying to visit Graton's work, so we finally decided to pick him up one Friday evening, and get the tour! First stop, was security, where we all got name badges, including Alyssa.

Because of the sensitive data stored in the Census Bureau, there are lots of security measures in place. Graton's name badge is necessary to operate the elevator. They even call your security information, (user name, etc..) your "James Bond."

The view from one of the hallways, the architecture is really fun, with landscaped roof tops, and a curved layout. The building is divided into color-coded sections, which house various departments.

Graton works in the green section. Audrey, Alyssa and I were surprised to find that we'd worn the appropriate color :)

Next stop, Daddy's stash of food to get snacks.

Graton's cubicle. He was fortunate to get one by the window.

The view from his window. It was raining the day we visited, but on a clear day, he can see the Washington Monument.
The girls loved the revolving door.

We're so grateful for this great job. Graton enjoys his work, and he couldn't have picked better co-workers. It also helps me feel that those long, difficult years of grad school were worth it!

Awesome! It's so nice for kids to see where their parents work! Adelle loved coming to my work and seeing her pictures hanging by my desk :)
