Hands on Learning

Mt. Vernon has a fun kids room called, "Hands on Learning" They have dress-ups, story books, coloring and activity sheets, period toys, etc.. The best part was probably the free babysitting! Well, it wasn't techinicaly free babysitting, but we were the only family there, and the volunteers spent a couple of hours playing with my girls, which was fabulous!

Audrey building a log cabin.

That wonderful docent also spent a long time playing dollhouse with Alyssa. (The dollhouse is a replica of George Washington's). And she's way better at playing dollhouse then me. I was tempted to ask if I could hire her to babysit sometime, but chickened out.

Was that a flower in Audrey's hair? It's a nice addition to the ranger uniform. :) Good job, mom!!
